Our restaurant, “Kyoto Sakaba Akamaru,” is an izakaya housed in a renovated traditional Kyoto townhouse (kyomachiya) that’s over 100 years old, where you can experience the charm of days gone by.
Located in a prime location within walking distance of Hankyu Karasuma Station, Subway Shijo Station, and Hankyu Omiya Station, you can enjoy your meal in a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant also features tatami rooms that can accommodate groups ranging from 8 to 50 people. We’re here to cater to everything from enjoyable gatherings with family and friends to business dinners and large-scale banquets.

For example, we offer exquisite dishes that bring out the natural flavors of the ingredients, such as “Whole Roasted Onions” and “Grilled Eggplant with Miso Paste.” We also offer a wide selection of tofu dishes—a staple of Japanese cuisine—including “Kyoto-style Simmered Tofu” and “Deep-Fried Tofu in Broth,” allowing you to enjoy their delicate flavors.
